This is a tool that contains the American English, Spanish and German sounds. Firstly, you have to determine the language you want to work with. Secondly, you decide on a variety of options available in the site. Once you made your choice, the tool gives you an explanation step-by-step. Finally, you can see an animated video which shows you how the vocal organ works in the production of a consonant or vowel sounds. The video also provides audio, allowing your students to listen to the correct pronunciation of the sound in isolation or in context.
This tool can help you when you are teaching the first concepts of phonetics. As regarding advantages, we can mention that all the sounds are available; each one with its own video and examples. However, you must have Flash 7 or higher plug-in and a good connection to use it.
We think that this tool is very functional to be used in your classes as well as at home. It gives your students the opportunity to appreciate in a visual way what they read in theory.
Access the tool here.
